Jesus Christ is the way (John 14:6), the only way that one can be forgiven of their sins (Acts 13:38). God is holy, and requires of us to be holy also (Leviticus 20:26). Jesus Christ died on the cross as a substitute for man (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). All men sin, and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23, 5:12). God is so holy that He cannot allow sin to go unpunished (Proverbs 11:21), His righteous justice cries out (Isaiah 5:16). The penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23). In this separation, man is sent to everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46). Man cannot pay for his own sin, we sin continually, and without God our hearts are continually evil (Genesis 6:5) (Mark 7:21). If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9), the Father accounts Jesus Christs righteousness to us (Romans 5:19, 2 Corinthians 5:21). This is because Christ dwells within us, we are united to Christ (Ephesians 3:17). God no longer see’s us as being sinful creature, but He see a holy righteous people covered by the perfect blood of the lamb Jesus Christ (1 John 1:7).
